City of London Memorial Book Cabinets

A commission of heritage, remembrance, and craftsmanship.

When the City of London sought to commission bespoke cabinets to house its historic memorial books, Griffin & Sinclair was entrusted with the design and creation of these significant pieces. It was both an honour and a responsibility to craft furniture that would hold such meaning and stand within one of the most historic settings in the country.

Each cabinet was meticulously handcrafted in our Nottinghamshire workshop, using traditional joinery techniques and time-honoured craftsmanship. Designed to complement the architectural and cultural context of the memorial space, the cabinets embody both elegance and longevity — blending refined aesthetics with practical function.

Sustainably sourced hardwoods were carefully selected for their grain and tone, ensuring the finished pieces reflected warmth, respect, and permanence.
